Last weekend I went to the marvellous Mauritshuis in the Hague, to see the impressive works of Vermeer and Rembrandt. I truly enjoy going to museums and getting the opportunity to appreciate the art of great masters of the past. But even more than admiring beautiful paintings, what I most appreciate on these visits is how we women have come so far compared to women of the 16th, 17th, 18, and 19th century.
Today we can make art, we can create businesses, we can decide if we want to work or not, we can get married or stay single, we can have children or stay childless, our opinion is heard and we have power.
Of course, there is a long way still to go, but in my humble opinion, there is a lot to celebrate.
Happy International Women's day, my dearest ladies!
